Viking Dublin
Explore the ancient city of Dublin as I bring to life a thousand years of our colourful history, from the Viking trading port to the medieval walled city. The ancient city of Dublin was first populated more than 2,000 years ago; however, it was the Vikings travelling from Denmark and Norway in the 10th Century which turned Dublin into an important trading town. The busy Dublin port was at the centre of the Vikings empire, and today their legacy is still a key part of our historic city. During your driving tour we will explore the historic Viking settlements of Christ Church and Wood Quay, whilst also seeing the ruins of the medieval wall.
Architectural Dublin
Discover the most iconic buildings in Dublin as we visit key architectural landmarks that are treasured by every Dubliner. I can create a personalised tour which is based on your own interests, including sights such as the prestigious Trinity College and Dublin Castle, the beautiful Christ Church Cathedral and St. Patrick’s Cathedral, and the vibrant streets of Georgian Dublin, including the famous Henrietta Street. We will explore sights which have stood for hundreds of years in this historic city, and together w will delve into the history of these famous landmarks. I will proudly bring to life these amazing buildings whilstpointing out the key architectural details that are often easily missed.
Historical Dublin
Dublin is a city with a long and colourful history, and my private driving tour is designed to take you to the key areas of the city that played important roles throughout its vibrant history. Learn about the Easter Rising of 1916, the most dramatic event in Ireland’s fight for independence and the formation of the Irish Free State, before heading to Kilmainham Goal. This prison is now a museum, however it famouslyhoused many notable leaders during the rising, and was sadly the place of 15 executions, including Patrick Pearse, James Connolly, and Thomas Clarke. Today, the prison is one of the largest unoccupied prisons in Europe, and as a symbol of Ireland’s history it is a great place to learn about the country’s troubled past.
Literary Dublin
Dublin has a vast literary history, with writers such as James Joyce, Oscar Wilde, George Bernard Shaw, Bram Stoker, Jonathan Swift, and Elizabeth Bowen all calling the city home. There are many great spots to see around the city including the homes of these literary greats and the much-loved cafes, pubs and restaurants which feature in novels such as ‘Dubliners’ and ‘Ulysses’. There are many interesting places to see during our driving tour of Dublin, including the Dublin Writer’s Museum.
The Phoenix Park
Covering 1752 acres, Phoenix Park is the largest public park in Europe, and with its herd of fallow deer, a zoo, and an array of wild animals, it is an amazing place to visit during a trip to Dublin. If you are looking to fit in as many sights as possible during a brief trip to Dublin, the park is a great spot, as nestled in the stunning landscape there are many historic buildings and monuments, including Áras an Uachtaráin (the residence of the President of Ireland), the American Ambassador’s residence and The Papal Cross, which was erected to mark the visit of Pope John Paul II. Whether you would like to enjoy a spot of deer watching or view the famous 18th Century buildings, I will plan the perfect trip for you to this stunning park.

Whether you are staying at a hotel in Dublin or flying into the airport, I will collect you in my luxurious and comfortable Jaguar, so that we can begin our tour in style.
The Village of Howth
The small fishing port of Howth is situated on the stunning coastline just a short drive from Dublin, and with its picturesque streets, harbour, beaches and array of interesting shops, cafes, and traditional Irish pubs, it is the perfect place to explore. Take your time exploring the pretty village before heading to Howth summit to enjoy unspoilt views across Dublin Bay, and if you are lucky, you may even spot the resident seals. The scenic drive to Howth itself is breathtaking, and as you will be enjoying a private tour, we can stop at any point for you to make the most of the plentiful photo opportunities.
Malahide Castle and Gardens
The 12th Century Malahide Castle is situated just north of Dublin City, and it is the perfect place to take in the stunning Irish countryside. There are many beautiful castles dotted around Ireland, but Malahide Castle is known for its beautiful ornamental gardens, with the stunning walled botanical garden always boasting plenty of amazing plants. The castle itself is known forits period features, antique furniture, and historic paintings which are on display throughout. Once you have finished exploring, the craft shop and café offer plenty of local treats that will leave you refreshed and ready to explore the picturesque village of Malahide and the surrounding countryside.
