Newgrange Tour (Admission Tickets Included)
Embark on a captivating journey through Ireland’s rich heritage and mysticism with our Newgrange Tour. The tour includes the Brú na Bóinne Visitor Centre, delving into the mysteries of the ancient Newgrange tomb, a marvel of prehistoric engineering. Built over 5,000 years ago, Newgrange predates both Stonehenge and the Great Pyramids, showcasing the ingenuity of Ireland’s early inhabitants. Its stunning passage and chamber align with the winter solstice, creating a magical interplay of light that has fascinated visitors and scholars alike. This is your chance to explore the passageway and inner burial chamber of Newgrange and view the largest collection of megalithic art within Europe. Next, we will stop at Monasterboice, an early Christian monastic site founded in the 5th century. It is famous for its well-preserved round tower, two churches, and intricately carved high crosses, including the renowned Muiredach’s High Cross, one of the finest examples of Celtic stonework. Our last stop before driving back to your hotel will be the Hill of Tara, an ancient ceremonial site and the traditional seat of Ireland’s High Kings. Rich in history and mythology, it features landmarks like the Lia Fáil (Stone of Destiny) and offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. This tour offers a deep dive into Ireland’s mystical past, where every site tells a tale of myth and history, leaving you enchanted by the island’s enduring legacy.

Sites we will visit
Tara was the ancient seat of the High Kings of Ireland and is probably the most important heritage site in Ireland. Its history dates back to the Neolithic period, around 5,000 years ago, with evidence of ancient burial mounds and religious monuments. Tara became the political and spiritual centre of Ireland during the Iron Age, serving as a ceremonial site where kings were inaugurated. It features notable structures like the Lia Fáil (Stone of Destiny) and the Mound of the Hostages. Despite its decline in political importance by the medieval period, Tara remains a symbol of Irish heritage and mythology. The Hill of Tara also offers stunning views of the Irish countryside.
